Book Spine Poetry Night

Join us for an evening of poetry writing and reading. Pricilla Ward, curator of BBS's poetry section, will facilitate as participants write book spine poetry, a type of ‘found’ poetry that uses pre-written words to create poems without a particular rhyme or traditional poetic structure. Poetry will be created using a stack of books, artfully arranged, where each title is a line in the poem. The length is up to you! The evening will conclude with a poetry reading. (It’s also National Poem in Your Pocket Day (see below for more about National Poetry Month and Poem in Your Pocket Day)… we encourage you to arrive with a copy of a favorite poem tucked into your pocket.) All poetry books will be on sale for 20% off that evening only.
